The following describes how ACEVO gathers and disseminates information for its
website. (Please note that this site contains links to other sites and that ACEVO
is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites or their
operators).
By using the ACEVO website you acknowledge that you have read the terms of this
privacy policy and that you consent to the use of your business and/or personal
information for the purposes set out in this privacy policy. If you do not wish
to provide the information on the basis set out in this privacy policy you should
not complete the business and/or personal details in the spaces provided. However,
in that case, we regret that you will not be able to make any further use of some
of the services offered by the ACEVO website.

A. ACEVO's commitment to your privacy
ACEVO is committed to protecting the privacy of your business and its employees,
while providing you with the opportunity to receive products and services that enhance
your business activities and the benefits you receive from ACEVO's services.
This policy ("Online Privacy Policy") describes the ways in which we collect information
from you when you use the service, and what we may use it for.

B. What data do we collect from you?
We collect data from you ("User Data") in various ways:
- when you register to use the ACEVO services;
- by our use of "cookies" (see section C below);
- during the course of your use of ACEVO services, and those of third parties available
through the service, and;
- when we request further information from you from time to time following on from
registration.
Much of this data comprises business information. Some of it will inevitably comprise
personal data about individuals, to which UK data protection laws apply. This Online
Privacy Policy describes how ACEVO fulfils its obligations under those data protection
laws.
You may obtain a copy of your User Data held by ACEVO by contacting us and requesting
a copy but we do require at least 14 days' notice to enable us to comply with the
request.
Once you have registered as a member with us you will no longer be anonymous to
us: you will have your own personal user name and password and will be able to navigate
our site as you wish. If you contact us we may also keep a record of that correspondence
and we may, from time to time, ask you to complete a customer satisfaction survey
to assist us in improving our service to you.
C. Use of "cookies"
A cookie is a small chunk of information sent by the ACEVO web server to the web
browser software being used by its Users, which enables the web server to collect
information back from the web browser. ACEVO uses cookies to identify users when
they visit the ACEVO website. Cookies also enable ACEVO to build up a personalised
profile of its users, and to develop personalised versions of our websites.
Information generated by the use of cookies is only disclosed to third parties in
aggregate form so that no individual can be identified (see also D (iii) below).
D. Our use of user data
ACEVO will use User Data we collect from you only in accordance with the following
guidelines:
(i) To provide the ACEVO service to you
We will use User Data to provide and improve our e-business service to you,
to enable our help desk to deal with any queries you have about our service, to
notify you of any changes to our service or our Member Agreement, and to process
payments.
We will need to provide data about you to delivery companies and others who are
involved in providing our service to you.
(ii) To include user data in anonymous statistics
ACEVO may provide anonymous statistics about our Users, sales patterns and related
usage information, to reputable third parties, but these statistics will not enable
any third party to identify individuals or individual businesses.
(iii) Sharing with ACEVO 3rd parties
ACEVO will not disclose your personal information to companies outside ACEVO except
to business partners and suppliers that process data on our behalf i.e. mailing
house. We do not sell our membership data to other organisations.
(iv) If ACEVO enters into receivership
If ACEVO enters into receivership or any similar or equivalent event occurs, those
acting on behalf of ACEVO may sell the organisation or parts of it to a third party,
in fulfilment of legal requirements. In these circumstances, we shall use reasonable
endeavours to contact you in advance of disclosing your data to that third party,
but you acknowledge that this might not be technically or commercially feasible
in all the circumstances.
E. Transfer of user data outside the European Economic Area
The Internet is a global environment. ACEVO may sometimes need to transfer User
Data to locations outside the European Economic Area ("EEA"). By accepting this
Online Privacy Policy you hereby consent to such transfers, provided that they are
limited to the purposes set out in section D above.

Legal requirements
While it is unlikely, ACEVO may be required to disclose your User Data by a court
order or to comply with other legal requirements. We will use reasonable endeavours
to notify you before we do so, unless we are legally restricted from doing so. ACEVO
may also be required to disclose your User Data if it is acting under a good faith
belief that such action is necessary to protect the interests of its members or
other qualified bodies.
G. Data Protection Act
ACEVO is registered under the Data Protection Act 1998 and complies with the Data
Protection Principles set out in that Act in the collection and processing of personal
information.
H. Consent to our use
By using the ACEVO website or by clicking below you acknowledge that you have read
this Online Privacy Policy and that you consent to ACEVO's use of your User Data
in accordance with it. This Online Privacy Policy may be amended by ACEVO at any
time. ACEVO will notify you through the website of these changes.
